A Around-Relative-in-law occurs as 1979 comedy film starring Alan Arkin and Peter Falk.
Plot
A girl of modest-mannered, Manhattan dentist Sheldon Kornpett (Arkin), and a boy of man of affairs Vince Ricardo (Falk), come engaged to exist as married. At an introductory dinner, Vince tells hysterically exaggerated tales of his "consulting" function around 1954 Guatemala. In the end, Vince dupes Sheldon into joining the scallywag CIA plot to rob the U.S. Treasury on behalf of an insane Latin-American dictator.
A film was remade around 2003 to lesser acclaim, starring Albert Brooks and Michael Douglas.
